It’s an honour and a privilege for me to take on the charge of Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) from 3rd March, 2023. I am excited to take upon this new responsibility and to work alongside the dedicated officers & personnel of SSB. As I begin my tenure, let me tell you that I am deeply aware of the magnificent history of SSB, and of the many heroic deeds of its officers and jawans in protecting our borders and working for national security. I shall endeavour to take forward the good work of the past DGs in guiding and leading the youngest central armed police force of India.
I have seen the meteoric rise of the Force in terms of manpower, professionalism and output. SSB has done a great Job in manning our borders, keeping a check on infiltration, smuggling and anti-national activities while performing the dual task of maintaining century-old ties with our friendly neighbours. I am confident that the Force will continue to do the good work and prove worthy of the trust and confidence bestowed upon us by the Government and citizens of our great Nation.
There are new emerging challenges to national security. To tackle this, we need to focus on, upskilling our officers and jawans, and upgrading our technology in handling such challenges and preventing cross-border crimes. Let’s promise ourselves that we will continue to function with the same sense of enthusiasm in the pursuit of excellence and professionalism to achieve higher standards and keep the SSB flag flying high.
Working for the welfare of our personnel and families is my topmost priority while doing my best to understand the issues & challenges faced by the force at the borders and other locations and camps, and solving them in the spirit of our Motto, Service, Security & Brotherhood.
Over the coming days and weeks, I will take first-hand information on our borders & stations myself and work towards our common national security interests that rely upon the strengths, capabilities, and contributions of each and every member of SSB.
Best wishes to each one of you and your families.
